President Aoun Seeks International Support Amid Escalating Border Tensions

Beirut: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, reached out to international leaders as tensions rose in southern Lebanon due to increased Israeli military actions. In a phone call to French President Emmanuel Macron, President Aoun outlined the recent military developments and urged France to intervene in halting the Israeli military expansion.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, President Macron expressed France's unwavering support for Lebanon and commended the decisions made by the Lebanese Council of Ministers. He emphasized that these decisions are crucial for reinforcing Lebanon's sovereignty and its exclusive right to possess arms.

Additionally, President Aoun met with Papal Ambassador to Lebanon, Monsignor Paolo Borgia, to discuss the situation in the south. He appealed for the Holy See's intervention to stop the Israeli attacks and incursions into border villages.
