President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received on Wednesday 7/2/2024 a phone call from Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni.
The call tackled ways to foster closer bilateral relations across various fields, to be commensurate with the historical and outstanding relations between the two countries and in a way that reinforces their common interests, in light of the current challenging regional and international situations.
The President and the Italian Prime Minister also discussed the developments and ongoing escalation in the region. President El-Sisi reviewed Egypt’s efforts to engage with all parties to push for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, so as to spare the region from an expansion of the scope of the conflict.
The President highlighted Egypt’s efforts to deliver desperately needed humanitarian aid and relief to the people of the Gaza Strip. President El-Sisi emphasized the vital necessity to make tangible progress in efforts to restore calm and advance the path of the two-state solution.
