Beirut: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, returned to Beirut after concluding an official visit to Qatar at the invitation of Qatari Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. President Aoun was accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Youssef Rajji.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, following discussions between President Aoun and Sheikh Tamim, the Qatari Emir expressed his country's commitment to supporting Lebanon. Sheikh Tamim emphasized Qatar's dedication to assisting Lebanon and its people in their quest for progress and prosperity.
In a statement on his official X account, Sheikh Tamim highlighted the importance of the meeting, noting that the discussions focused on enhancing the strong relations between Qatar and Lebanon. He described the relationship as one characterized by cooperation, understanding, and mutual respect, aimed at achieving shared interests and objectives across multiple domains.
A joint statement detailing the outcomes of the discussions between President Aoun and Sheikh Tamim at the Amiri Diwan in Doha is expected to be released in both the Lebanese and Qatari capitals soon.
