Beirut: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, extended his congratulations to the United Nations on its Day, celebrated annually on October 24th. He emphasized the significance of the day, marking 80 years since nations pledged to prevent war, promote peace, and uphold human rights.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, President Aoun remarked on the alignment of the United Nations' charter with Lebanon's message of sovereignty, independence, and freedom. He conveyed his best wishes to the UN, reaffirming Lebanon's commitment to truth and goodness amidst changing times.
President Aoun also expressed his hope to UN Secretary-General Ant³nio Guterres that the organization will continue to bolster international cooperation and ensure peace, security, and justice. In his congratulatory message to Guterres, President Aoun acknowledged the United Nations' efforts and wished the Secretary-General success and good health in his endeavors.
