President Joseph Aoun Contacts Bahraini King, Reaffirms Lebanon’s Solidarity with Kingdom and Its People

Beirut: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, held a phone call this afternoon with the King of Bahrain, Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, condemning the attacks that targeted the Kingdom of Bahrain and affirming the Lebanese people's solidarity with the brotherly Bahraini people. President Aoun also denounced the involvement of partisan groups in a sabotage plot that the Kingdom announced it had thwarted.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa thanked President Aoun for his supportive stance toward Bahrain and its people, and called for "an end to the Israeli attacks on Lebanon and the suffering of the brotherly Lebanese people."

Meanwhile, President Aoun continued his meetings this afternoon at Baabda Palace, where he received General Security Chief Major General Hassan Choucair, with whom he discussed the security situation in the country and military developments. The discussion also touched on the work of General Security across various Lebanese regions, and the situation of displaced persons.

At Baabda Palace, Aoun also received the head of the "Popular Bloc," Myriam Skaff, who affirmed her support for President Aoun's positions and the negotiation initiative he announced, in addition to the government's decisions aimed at consolidating stability in the country. Skaff also commended the army's role in maintaining security in the country, stressing the necessity of supporting it at all levels and standing by its side and rallying around it. The discussion also addressed the situation in the Bekaa, in general, and in Zahle, in particular, as well as the needs of the region's residents.
