Baabda: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, engaged in a series of discussions with notable visitors at Baabda Palace, focusing on diplomatic, judicial, and socioeconomic issues. On Monday, he met with Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Tarek Mitri, who provided updates on ongoing communications with Syrian officials regarding key bilateral issues. This follows the recent visit of Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani to Beirut.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Dr. Mitri revealed plans for a Syrian judicial delegation to visit Lebanon in the coming days to deliberate on legal matters between the two nations. This initiative underscores the continuing dialogue aimed at strengthening judicial cooperation.
In another significant meeting, President Aoun welcomed MP Michel Murr. MP Murr expressed appreciation for the President's national stance and discussed with him critical forthcoming constitutional and national obligations, as well as pressing developmental and social issues affecting citizens across various regions.
The President also conferred with lawyer Majd Boutros Harb about political and district affairs, where they assessed the general situation in the country. The discussions reflected a comprehensive review of Lebanon's current political landscape.
Dr. Riad Obeji, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Banque BEMO sal, was among the visitors. The dialogue with Dr. Obeji concentrated on Lebanon's economic and banking conditions, highlighting the challenges and potential solutions in these sectors.
Additionally, a delegation from the Lebanese Information Technology Association, led by Dr. Mona Ashkar, presented their ongoing work and initiatives. They discussed strategies to enhance collaboration between the public and private sectors in the realm of information technology, emphasizing the importance of innovation in driving national progress.
