President Joseph Aoun Engages with Key Labor and Industry Delegations

Baabda: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, on Thursday engaged in discussions with a delegation from the Ogero Employees' Syndicate concerning the underlying causes of the ongoing strike and the conditions faced by employees, especially those working on a daily wage basis. President Aoun emphasized that "their rights will be preserved after the establishment of Liban Telecom" and assured that he is actively monitoring the situation in collaboration with the Minister of Telecommunications, urging the syndicate to adopt a constructive approach to the issue.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, President Aoun also welcomed a delegation from the Syndicate of Pharmaceutical Industries in Lebanon at Baabda Palace. The delegation, led by Dr. Carol Abi Karam, underscored the significance of the national domestic pharmaceutical industry in ensuring medicine availability, generating employment, and bolstering the economy and exports.

Dr. Abi Karam expressed concerns that new fees could impose additional burdens on pharmaceutical manufacturers, potentially diminishing their competitiveness. She advocated for the introduction of incentives and the development of a comprehensive national strategy for the sector.
