Beirut: Former President Michel Sleiman said today in a statement, "The decisions and recommendations of the Supreme Defense Council, which were adopted by the Council of Ministers, in addition to the approval of the draft law on judicial independence, signal the return of the state."
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Sleiman emphasized the importance of remaining vigilant about the situation in Syria and urged for a swift unification of Lebanese ranks under the state's umbrella. He stressed the need to adhere to constants, notably the National Accord and Coexistence Document, to prevent the escalation of sectarian threats and other conflicts from spreading across borders.
