Prime Minister-Designate Salam Engages with UNHCR’s Grandi and Receives Congratulations from Canada’s Foreign Minister

Beirut: Prime Minister-designate Nawaf Salam on Thursday met with United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, and his delegation at his residence in Qoreitem. Discussions were centered on recent developments in Lebanon and the broader region, emphasizing the necessity for increased collaboration to ensure the safe and dignified repatriation of Syrian refugees amid current political changes.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Prime Minister Salam also received a congratulatory phone call from Canadian Foreign Minister M©lanie Joly. Joly, representing a country that presently chairs the G7, conveyed her best wishes and highlighted Canada's dedication to galvanizing international efforts to address Lebanon's requirements, particularly focusing on reconstruction and enhanced support for the Lebanese Armed Forces.
