Prime Minister Salam Focuses on Aid Transparency Following Ministerial Meeting

Beirut: Prime Minister Nawaf Salam is actively pursuing measures to ensure the transparent delivery of aid to displaced individuals, as discussed during a ministerial meeting held at the Grand Serail. The meeting, chaired by Salam, brought together several ministers to address the pressing needs of displaced people, focusing on shelter and relief requirements. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Minister of Information Paul Morcos stated that the prime minister briefed the ministers on recent developments and ongoing diplomatic efforts. Salam emphasized the importance of coordination between ministries and civil organizations to facilitate the efficient delivery of aid. He also urged Lebanese diplomatic missions to intensify communication efforts to mobilize assistance from expatriates, aiming to expedite the distribution of food and medicine to those in need. Furthermore, to promote transparency, Salam tasked the information minister with providing the media with relevant figures and details, ensu ring displaced individuals have access to necessary information and services. Morcos also mentioned that the prime minister reviewed preparations at displacement shelters and was informed about António Guterres's visit to the Dekwaneh center, where conditions and aid delivery for displaced people were inspected. In an additional effort to assist displaced individuals, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education established a hotline for complaints from those inside shelters, reachable at 81576097.
