Public Administration Employees’ Association Calls for 3-Day Strike, Warns of Escalation Measures

Beirut: Public Administration Employees Association called for a three-day strike on December 15, 16, and 17, warning of unprecedented escalation measures.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the Association issued a statement on Sunday declaring that this step comes in response to the state's ongoing policy of procrastination and delay, as it fails to address the legitimate demands that were clearly and explicitly agreed upon with the coalition of associations, judicial aids, and military personnel.

The Association emphasized that the state and its institutions are fully responsible for the current tension and unrest within public administrations. They affirmed that "the continuation of this irresponsible approach will inevitably lead to unprecedented escalatory measures, the consequences of which will be borne by those who persist in ignoring the rights and dignity of employees."

The statement concluded by urging all employees in ministries and departments, including those in public administrations and institutions with regulations stipulating work on holidays, particularly at archaeological sites, to participate in the three-day strike scheduled for December 15, 16, and 17, 2025. It was noted that meetings will remain open continuously, and the possibility of escalation will be maintained, contingent on the official response to this step and its repercussions.
