Public Works Ministry Continues Efforts to Reopen Mountain Roads Following Storm Adam

Beirut: The Ministry of Public Works and Transport announced on Monday that its teams are actively working to clear snow and reopen roads in various Lebanese regions, focusing on mountainous areas impacted by the accumulation of snow from Storm "Adam."

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Dahr al-Baydar highway is now accessible to all vehicles, along with the Zgharta-Ehden road and internal roads within the district. Additionally, all roads in the Tannourine area are open, except for the Tannourine-Tannourine Cedar Reserve-Hadath El Jebbeh route, which is currently accessible only to four-wheel-drive vehicles. Authorities expect complete clearance by this afternoon or early tomorrow.

Efforts continue to clear the Hermel-Qobayat road to restore normal traffic flow. However, several other high-altitude routes, including Ainata-Cedars, Al-Maasser-Kfardebian, and Hermel-Dannieh, are anticipated to remain closed until spring, following the usual practice each year.

The ministry has urged citizens to exercise caution while driving in mountainous areas, adhere to road safety guidelines, and ensure their vehicles are equipped with necessary winter gear.
