Doha: Caretaker Culture Minister Judge Mohammad Wissam Mortada recently visited Qatar, having been invited by Qatari Culture Minister Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani. During his visit, Mortada engaged in discussions with Qatari officials, focusing on Lebanon's urgent needs in light of ongoing regional aggression, refugee issues, and cultural preservation. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Minister Mortada was warmly received by Lolwah RM Al-Khater, Qatar's Minister of State for International Cooperation, alongside Lebanese Ambassador to Qatar Farah Berri, media advisor Rony Alfa, and Dr. Wassim Naji. Al-Khater reaffirmed Qatar's unwavering support for Lebanon, underscoring progress on establishing a maritime aid route with Turkey to supplement existing air assistance efforts. The discussions also included a proposal from the Qatari side to introduce prefabricated homes and schools as a temporary solution to the refugee crisis. This initiative aims to maintain the dignity of refugees until they can safely return to their homeland. Al-Khater highlighted that Qatar, under the leadership of Emir Tamim, remains dedicated to bolstering Lebanon's resilience and supporting its future reconstruction efforts.
