Raggi, Wong Discuss Ceasefire Developments, Affirm Support for Lebanon’s Sovereignty

Beirut: Foreign Minister, Youssef Raggi, on Monday received a phone call from Australian Foreign Minister, Penny Wong, with talks focusing on developments in Lebanon following the sixth day of the ceasefire and the early stages of the negotiation process.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Wong expressed Australia's full support for the Lebanese government's efforts to assert sovereignty and restore stability, and conveyed readiness to provide humanitarian assistance.

Raggi thanked his counterpart, stressing that Lebanon was drawn into a war it did not choose, and reaffirmed the government's commitment to reclaiming decision-making authority and restoring full sovereignty, expressing hope for Israeli withdrawal and the recovery of occupied territories.
