Rahi Engages in Diplomatic Dialogue with Iraqi Ambassador, Holds Meetings with Former Ministers

Beirut: Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Rahi, on Thursday, hosted the new Iraqi Ambassador to Lebanon, Mohammed Reda Al-Husseini. The ambassador provided insights into the situation of Christians in Iraq, underlining "the depth of the historical relationship between the two countries."

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the Iraqi Ambassador expressed "Iraq's constant readiness to support Lebanon, especially at the economic level." Patriarch Rahi conveyed his best wishes to Ambassador Al-Husseini for success in his new role and the strengthening of bonds between the Lebanese and Iraqi peoples.

In addition to his meeting with the ambassador, Patriarch Rahi welcomed former Minister Ibrahim Chamseddine in Diman. Their discussions focused on the general situation and developments within the local arena.

The day's visitors also included former Minister Jihad Azour and his brother Antoine, who expressed support for Patriarch Rahi's patriotic positions. Their conversation addressed the latest developments in the local scene and the overall economic situation.
