Damascus: Former Interior Minister, Ashraf Rifi, on Wednesday issued an urgent humanitarian appeal after a bus carrying Lebanese pilgrims en route to perform Umrah overturned on the Daraa road in Syria, leaving multiple people dead and injured. Rifi emphasized the need for immediate action to assist the victims of the crash, stressing the severity of the situation.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, some survivors contacted Rifi following the crash, urging immediate intervention. The survivors requested swift action from both Lebanese and Syrian authorities to rescue and provide aid to those affected by the tragic incident. Rifi called on the authorities to coordinate their efforts to ensure a rapid response to the humanitarian needs arising from the accident.
