Beirut: A Russian plane carrying around 20 tons of medical supplies arrived at Rafik Hariri International Airport, welcomed by Caretaker Health Minister, Dr. Firas Abiad, Russian Ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Rudakov, and Health Committee head, MP Bilal Abdullah. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Minister Abiad noted the aid's significance as Israel's escalating attacks strain Lebanon's healthcare system, with hospitals in Tyre, Baalbek, and other areas impacted. The Health Minister emphasized that this shipment, dedicated to the health sector, supported Lebanon's medical staff in fulfilling their duties under challenging circumstances. In turn, Ambassador Rudakov underscored Russia's commitment to Lebanon, calling for international intervention to halt the violence not only in Lebanon but also in Gaza, advocating for diplomatic negotiations. MP Abdullah expressed gratitude, highlighting the enduring bond between Lebanon and Russia and commending Russia's solidarity, despite its own economic h ardships.
