KAZAN: Russian President Vladimir Putin announced his country's intention to bolster the BRICS group's influence in the global energy dialogue during the 16th BRICS summit in Kazan. The remarks underline Russia's strategic emphasis on using BRICS as a vehicle to address geopolitical shifts and enhance cooperation in energy to improve state economies and address social priorities. According to Kuwait News Agency, President Putin outlined three primary areas for collaboration: politics and security, economics and finance, and humanitarian and cultural exchange. He emphasized Russia's commitment to enhancing BRICS' authority in global affairs and solving pressing international and regional issues. Additionally, he assured that Moscow has taken steps to facilitate the integration of new member countries into the association. The BRICS organizing committee noted that the summit's narrow format would be succeeded by a broader meeting accessible to media. Delegation leaders are expected to discuss strategies for e nhancing cooperation on international matters and resolving regional conflicts. The summit will concentrate on two pivotal themes: promoting multilateralism for equitable global development and security, and developing a digital payment platform named "BRICS bridge." BRICS, formed in 2006, originally included Russia, Brazil, India, and China, with South Africa joining in 2011. The bloc expanded in 2024 to include Egypt, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Ethiopia.
