Salam Bound for Washington to Partake in President Trump’s Inauguration

Washington: Caretaker Minister of Economy and Trade Amin Salam will visit the US capital, Washington, to participate in the inauguration ceremony of the 47th US President-elect, Donald Trump, on Monday, January 20, 2025, at the official invitation of President Trump's administration.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the new US administration extended this personal invitation to Minister Salam in recognition of his historical relations with President Trump and Washington. Salam's achievements in strengthening Arab-American relations are notable, having resided in the United States for over two decades. His career in the US began in New York City as an international law attorney in major law firms, and later, he held several senior positions in Washington, the decision-making capital.

During his visit, Minister Salam plans to reiterate a previous invitation to President Trump to visit Lebanon. The proposed visit would include a trip to Qana, a village in southern Lebanon known for its biblical significance, and Beirut, from where Trump would venture to Kfar Aaqa, the ancestral village of Salam's next grandson.

Additionally, Minister Salam's trip to the US will feature a meeting with Massad Boulos, President Trump's senior advisor for Middle East affairs. He will also follow up on past discussions with American officials regarding Middle East and Lebanon issues and engage with representatives from the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.
