Caretaker Minister of Economy and Trade, Amin Salam, held a meeting on Saturday with Egyptian Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan al-Khatib, on the sidelines of the Arab League meetings in Cairo. Discussions during the meeting touched on ways to enhance economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, in line with the brotherly ties that bind Lebanon and Egypt. Salam indicated that the meeting was a chance to tackle issues related to facilitating trade between Lebanon and Egypt and addressing the challenges that hinder its smooth flow, especially towards Lebanese traders and investors amidst the country's economic crisis. He also stressed the "importance of promoting exchanged visits between businessmen from both countries, to explore investment opportunities and work to open new horizons for commercial and industrial partnership between Lebanon and Egypt."
