Beirut: Prime Minister Nawaf Salam hosted a series of meetings at the Grand Serail, engaging with delegations from border villages, UNICEF, and the Palestinian Ambassador.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Salam first met with a delegation representing the municipalities of Rmeish, Ain Ebel, Debel, and Al-Qouzah. Father Najib Al-Amil, speaking on behalf of the group, recognized the resilience of residents amidst recent hostilities and expressed gratitude for Salam's commitment to supporting essential infrastructure and agricultural development initiatives. The delegation also voiced concerns about shortages in essential services, particularly affecting Rmeish, which accommodates approximately 6,500 residents and 1,000 Syrian refugees.
Salam's agenda also included discussions with Marcoluigi Corsi, the new UNICEF representative in Lebanon. Their meeting focused on UNICEF's ongoing programs that align with government priorities and the importance of inter-agency cooperation for effective implementation.
In addition, Salam welcomed Palestinian Ambassador Ashraf Dabbour and Lebanese-Palestinian Dialogue Committee Chair Ramzi Dmaschkieh for a farewell visit, marking the conclusion of Dabbour's term. As a gesture of appreciation, the Prime Minister presented Dabbour with a commemorative gift.
Salam also engaged in talks with Charles Arbid, President of the Economic, Social, and Environmental Council, to discuss socio-economic developments and initiatives spearheaded by the council.
