Beirut: Prime Minister Nawaf Salam on Monday held a meeting at the Grand Serail with Jacques de La Jogie, the economic advisor to the French President's special envoy to Lebanon. The session was also attended by Economy Minister Amer Bsat and French Ambassador Herv© Magro.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the discussions primarily centered around the current progress in Lebanon's economic reform journey. Key topics included the banking restructuring law that has been forwarded to Parliament and the ongoing preparation of financial gap legislation. Both of these measures are crucial for finalizing an agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and are integral to preparing for an upcoming donor conference in France.
In addition to the discussions with the French envoy's advisor, PM Salam also met with Rola Dashti, the Executive Secretary of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA). Their talks revolved around reviewing ongoing cooperative projects and identifying ways to support Lebanon during this critical juncture.
Furthermore, former Member of Parliament Ziad Kadri visited the Serail for discussions on the broader political developments within the country.
