Salam Reviews Ceasefire Implementation, Return of Displaced as Casualty Toll Rises

Beirut: Information Minister, Paul Morcos, on Friday said Prime Minister, Nawaf Salam, reviewed ceasefire implementation and measures facilitating the return of displaced people during the daily ministerial meeting at the Grand Serail.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, discussions covered coordination with the army and security forces, services at reception centers, and post-ceasefire planning. Morcos said Defense Minister Michel Menassa outlined field conditions and army efforts, including bridge repairs, noting the death toll has reached 2,196 and 7,185 wounded.

Officials also reviewed fuel supplies, aid arrivals, and relief efforts, while Interior Minister Ahmad al-Hajjar reported arrests linked to celebratory gunfire. The issue of attacks on journalists was raised, with authorities confirming ongoing investigations.
