Beirut: Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, arrived this afternoon at Beirut's Rafic Hariri International Airport, accompanied by a delegation, on a short visit to Lebanon. During his visit, he is scheduled to meet with President of the Republic General Joseph Aoun to congratulate him on his election.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Prince Faisal bin Farhan is also set to meet with House Speaker Nabih Berri, Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati, and Prime Minister-Designate Nawaf Salam. These meetings are expected to address various topics of mutual interest and strengthen bilateral relations.
Upon his arrival at Beirut airport, Prince Faisal bin Farhan was received by Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Dr. Abdullah Bou Habib, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Lebanon, Walid Bukhari, along with a delegation from the Embassy. The reception committee also included the Director General of Lebanon's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hani Chmaitli, and the Director of Protocol at Lebanon's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Osama Khashab.
This visit holds significance for Lebanon, marking the first time a high-ranking Saudi official has visited the country in more than 15 years. The visit comes after numerous developments and events that have occurred in Lebanon over the years. From the airport, Prince Faisal and his delegation proceeded directly to the Baabda presidential palace for the scheduled meetings.
