Manama: The Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) convened its 33rd regular meeting of the fifth term under the leadership of Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, the Council's President. During the meeting, the Council paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's decision to designate this year as the "Year of Isa Al Kabeer," recognizing the founder of modern Bahrain's significant contributions.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Council highlighted Isa Al Kabeer's critical role in establishing stability and developing legal and civil institutions. This historical legacy continues to drive Bahrain's progress under the current leadership. The Council also marked the 29th anniversary of the National Guard by extending congratulations to His Majesty the King, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Prime Minister. They commended the National Guard's contributions to security alongside other military bodies.
The SCIA addressed several key agenda items, including the conclusion of the eighth edition of the Tafsir Councils programme at the Ahmed Al Fateh Islamic Centre, which saw participation from over 268 attendees. Additionally, the Council acknowledged the General Secretariat's involvement in the Second International Symposium of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide in Cairo.
Furthermore, the Council reviewed the outcomes of the third edition of the 'Mutun' competition, organized by the Holy Quran Recitation and Teachers Preparation Institute. They expressed appreciation for the winners and organizing bodies and discussed plans for the closing ceremony. The meeting also included a report on mosque construction projects, supported by donor initiatives, and concluded by addressing correspondence and requests received by the Council.
