Beirut: Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem addressed the prevailing geopolitical tensions, emphasizing the existential threat Lebanon faces under US hegemony. Speaking at the Islamic Association for Education and Teaching ceremony, Sheikh Qassem articulated Hezbollah’s stance on defending Lebanese sovereignty and resisting external pressures.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon,Sheikh Qassem expressed that the aggression against Lebanese territories, particularly in Kfar Tibnit and Ain Qana, aims to undermine the Lebanese resistance by compelling the population to surrender. He stressed that the attacks are not targeted at any specific party or sect but are a threat to the entire nation, necessitating a collective response.
Sheikh Qassem highlighted the importance of resisting the Israeli enemy, asserting that liberating the land is a national duty. He conveyed Hezbollah’s willingness to collaborate with others who are committed to confronting the aggression, framing it as a national issue affecting the whole country. He urged Lebanese officials to communicate to foreign envoys that pressuring the Lebanese populace is not a viable option and that the focus should be on pressuring America and Israel to adhere to agreements and cease hostilities.
In his address, Sheikh Qassem emphasized that the Lebanese resistance, with its history of successes spanning 42 years, remains resolute in defending sovereignty and achieving liberation. He called for unity among various Lebanese factions, including Hezbollah, the Amal Movement, national forces, and the army, to maintain the momentum of resistance and liberation efforts.
Sheikh Qassem also paid tribute to prominent figures within the resistance and extended condolences to the family of Sayyed Abdul Karim Nasrallah. Additionally, he congratulated Iran on the anniversary of its 1979 revolution, expressing hope for its continued success in geopolitical confrontations.
He reaffirmed Hezbollah’s commitment to building the state and contributing to national governance, while criticizing certain ministers for seeking vengeance rather than state-building.
