Beirut: Economy and Trade Minister Amer Bisat visited the Sidon and South Lebanon Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, accompanied by government advisers and local economic representatives. During his visit, Bisat engaged with Chamber Head Mohammad Hassan Saleh and board members in an expanded meeting, addressing the concerns of the commercial, economic, agricultural, and industrial sectors, as well as the challenges facing productive sectors in Sidon and the South.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Minister Bisat emphasized Sidon's strategic importance due to its location, cultural heritage, and economic potential. He underscored the need for balanced growth across Lebanon, advocating for Sidon's role as a significant contributor to the country's economic development, rather than being perceived as a neglected city.
The minister highlighted the necessity of an integrated vision focusing on Sidon's waterfront and port, describing these as crucial elements for the city's long-term economic, social, and cultural revival. Following the meeting, Bisat toured the new fish market, the fishermen's port, and Sidon's commercial market, where he assessed the conditions facing local fishermen and listened to their demands.
