Seoul: South Korea has reaffirmed its bid to join the Trans-Pacific Partnership at the Korea-Japan summit, according to a statement by South Korea's National Security Adviser Wi Sung-lac.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Yonhap News Agency quoted the advisor as saying that President Lee Jae Myung and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi discussed the matter of joining the 12-member Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
Wi Sung-lac explained that President Lee Jae-Myung reaffirmed during the talks his country's desire to join the CPTPP, a multilateral trade agreement led by Japan that currently has 12 members, including Australia and several countries in Southeast Asia and Latin America.
