ABU DHABI: José Manuel Albares Bueno, Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain, visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi.
Accompanied by his delegation, including Iñigo de Palacio España, Ambassador of Spain to the UAE, alongside Dr. Yousef Al Obaidli, Director-General of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre in Abu Dhabi, the Spanish Minister toured the ‘Andalusia: History And Civilisation” exhibition, which is a part of the activities and events accompanying the ‘Andalusia: History and Civilisation’ initiative, organised under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court.
They were then briefed on the cultural content of the exhibition and its display of the features of the Andalusian heritage, its most important personalities, cities, literary production, arts, and sciences.
Minister José Manuel Albares Bueno and his accompanying delegation continued the tour by paying
homage to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan at his mausoleum, where he praised his vision, leadership, and values that promoted tolerance, coexistence, and peace among nations worldwide.
The delegation then proceeded to explore the iconic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, known for its stunning architecture and design. They were also given insights into the mosque’s history and the rich Islamic culture and heritage of the UAE.
The visit concluded with the presentation of several unique publications of the Centre, including “Spaces of Light” and “Houses of God,” to the Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain.
