Khartoum: Sudan's Transitional Political Council has reached out to the United Nations for assistance in pressuring the Rapid Support Forces to open relief corridors for displacement camps around El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur state.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Ibrahim Jaber, a member of Sudan's Transitional Sovereignty Council and the army's assistant commander, urged representatives of UN agencies and missions residing in Sudan to apply more pressure on the Rapid Support Forces. The goal is to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to those in need within the region.
