Tripoli: The Sudanese authorities issued a decision to tighten restrictions on the movement of Sudanese citizens towards the Libyan border, in an attempt to limit the influx of large numbers of displaced persons fleeing the hell of war in Darfur, especially the city of El Fasher. Under this decision, travel from conflict areas to the border triangle between Sudan, Libya and Egypt is prohibited, and is considered the main crossing for thousands of Sudanese seeking asylum in Libya to escape the ongoing battles. The Darfur 24 website quoted an administrative circular as saying that the Sudanese authorities called on all concerned parties to stop organizing displacement trips to Libya, warning of legal accountability for anyone who violates this decision.
