Homs: Syrian civil defense teams, supported by the Syrian Arab Army, successfully rescued several individuals from drowning while attempting an illegal crossing of the southern al-Kabir River near the villages of Al-Shabrouniyeh and Al-Dabbousiyeh, close to Tal Kalakh in the western Homs countryside. The group was making an unauthorized crossing between Syria and Lebanon.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Monir Kadour, head of the Tal Kalakh emergency center, stated that rescue teams responded swiftly after receiving reports of people drowning near Al-Shabrouniyeh, a location known for illegal crossings. The teams discovered two women and a young man, administered first aid, and transported them to Tal Kalakh National Hospital.
Survivors recounted that their group initially comprised 11 people. Four individuals reportedly returned to Lebanon, while the remaining members were carried away by the river. Efforts are ongoing, in coordination with Lebanese authorities, to continue the search for those still missing.
