Syrian Intelligence Apprehends ISIS Leader Abu Ali al-Harith al-Iraqi

Damascus: The Syrian Intelligence service successfully arrested Abu Ali al-Harith al-Iraqi, a key leader of ISIS, marking a significant development in the ongoing fight against terrorism.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, a source within the Syrian Intelligence service confirmed the arrest and detailed al-Iraqi's influential roles within the ISIS hierarchy. Al-Iraqi was responsible for critical operations, including handling the expatriate file and serving as the deputy equipment official, positions that made him pivotal in planning terrorist activities.

The source elaborated that al-Iraqi orchestrated several high-profile operations, notably the assassination of leader Maysar al-Jabouri and other targeted killings. His leadership extended to a cell that aimed to attack the Sayyida Zeinab shrine near Damascus, a plot that was successfully thwarted by Syrian forces.
