Raqqa:Syrian internal security forces have announced the arrest of four leaders of an ISIS-affiliated cell in Raqqa province. Several other members of the group were detained in Aleppo, Idlib, and Homs.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, the authorities reported that the cell was actively involved in kidnappings, planting explosive devices, and assassinations. The group's activities initially began in Raqqa and later expanded to other provinces.
Investigations have connected the group to five kidnappings and revealed plans for further attacks aimed at undermining regional security and stability. Security forces stated that explosive materials were seized during the operation, which they described as a preemptive measure that successfully thwarted a planned attack.
