Tanker trucks loaded with Iraqi oil returned back to the Ramadi region due to demonstrations near the Trebil border crossing, an official source at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said on Wednesday. The Iraqi side is committed to implementing the memorandum of understanding signed between Amman and Baghdad, the source added. The source confirmed that the quantities imported from Iraq constitute only 7-10 percent of the Kingdom’s needs for crude oil and oil derivatives. The source said that the Kingdom’s strategic stock of crude oil covers Jordan’s needs for more than 44 days, and that the stock of oil derivatives is sufficient for more than two months.
