Beirut: The 'Democratic Gathering' parliamentary bloc, led by MP Taymour Jumblatt, participated in non-binding parliamentary consultations with Prime Minister-designate Nawaf Salam at Parliament to discuss the government formation process. Following the meeting, MP Jumblatt described Lebanon's current juncture as "a historic moment," emphasizing the importance of seizing the opportunity to rebuild the country.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Jumblatt stated, "We are at a pivotal stage in Lebanon, and we have the chance to create a state and a future for this nation. We conveyed this message to Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, extending our best wishes for his success in this challenging new mission."
The 'Democratic Gathering' leader underscored the necessity of inclusivity and dialogue. Jumblatt emphasized that to build a state under such difficult circumstances, engagement with all parties is crucial. "No one can eliminate the other," he remarked. He urged political parties, including his own bloc, to ease their demands and reduce pressure on both the Prime Minister-designate and the President to facilitate the formation of a government.
