Ramallah: Team Rajoub, led by Lieutenant General Jibril Rajoub, extended a warm welcome to Maryam Bisharat, the newly crowned gold medalist at the Karate World Championship, during a reception in Ramallah. The event was attended by Secretary General Abdul Majeed Hajjeh, as well as Bisharat's father and coach, Amin Basharat. According to Maan News Agency, Lieutenant General Rajoub praised Bisharat for her exceptional technical performance that secured her victory at the prestigious international competition. He highlighted the pride and joy her achievement has brought to the Palestinian people and athletes, who continually strive to elevate their country's presence in continental and international sports arenas. Lieutenant General Rajoub emphasized that Bisharat's victory not only adds to her personal accolades but also positions her as a national sports icon and an ambassador for Palestine on the global stage. He noted the significance of leveraging this success to further enhance and develop the sport with in the region. In recognition of her historic achievement, an official honoring event is planned to celebrate Bisharat's gold medal win-the first of its kind in the history of Palestinian karate.
