The British Ambassador Confirms His Country’s Support For Holding The Elections On Time

Baghdad The British Ambassador to Iraq, Mark Bryson, affirmed his country’s support for holding the parliamentary elections on the scheduled date on the tenth of next October.

The Electoral Commission stated in a press statement: “The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, Judge Jalil Adnan Khalaf, received the British ambassador and his accompanying delegation at the commission’s headquarters.

The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners stated to the ambassador: “The Commission has completed most of the steps it set in the timetable to prepare for the election day on October 10, 2021,” praising the international support for conducting the electoral process in an unprecedented manner, which gave real impetus to the completion of the early elections file, through what has been achieved, mainly through the United Nations Mission in Baghdad.

For his part, the British ambassador praised the performance of the Electoral Commission and its keenness to explain all its steps and stages of work to the public, the media, international missions and official bodies, stressing: “Britain is supportive of achieving the election date through its continuous communication with the UN mission in Iraq.”
