Third Round of Iranian-US Nuclear Talks Concludes in Oman, Fourth Round Scheduled

Muscat: The third round of high-level talks between Iran and the United States on Tehran's nuclear program concluded in Oman today "in a serious atmosphere." The two delegations will return to Muscat on May 3 to resume indirect negotiations.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the Islamic Republic's Foreign Ministry confirmed that the discussions, which lasted approximately nine hours, were conducted in a "serious atmosphere." The negotiations are being mediated by Oman, with Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi actively facilitating the discussions. Al-Busaidi took to platform X to announce that the talks will continue next week, with another high-level meeting tentatively scheduled for May 3.

The negotiations are led by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, with Al Busaidi serving as the mediator. In addition to the high-level talks, technical discussions at the expert level were held concurrently. An Iranian television correspondent reported that these technical talks have delved into precise details concerning mutual demands and expectations, indicating a level of progress that necessitates further consultations in their respective capitals.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry clarified that the talks are being conducted "in separate rooms, as in the previous two rounds," facilitated by the Omani host and attended by the heads of the Iranian and American delegations. The continuation of these talks highlights the ongoing efforts to address and resolve issues surrounding Iran's nuclear program.
