TRAFFIC ON NAHR EL KALB HIGHWAY BACK TO NORMAL AFTER MORNING CLASHES BETWEEN CITIZENS AND SYRIAN VOTERS

The Lebanese Army restored traffic to normal on the Nahr elKalb highway, after it was almost halted due to morning clashes between young men and convoys of buses and cars carrying Syrian nationals hoisting the Syrian and the SSNP flags, as well as pictures of the Syrian president, on their way to the Syrian embassy In Yarzeh to cast their votes in the Syrian presidential elections currently underway.

A number of cars were damaged in the clashes, and several people were injured.

The Army imposed a security cordon around the area, to prevent the return of tension.
