Washington: Axios reported on Saturday that the Trump administration is considering changing its strategy for dealing with the Gaza issue, according to Sky News Arabia.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, a frustrated US Secretary of State Marco Rubio told the families of the hostages during a meeting on Friday, "We need to seriously rethink this," following the failure of the latest round of Gaza talks, according to two people who attended the meeting who spoke to Axios.
The American website explained: "Six months into his presidency, President Trump appears no closer to ending the war in Gaza. The humanitarian crisis is worse than ever, negotiations are stalled, and the United States and Israel are increasingly isolated on the international stage."
He pointed out that the ongoing fighting in Gaza and the circulation of images of starving Palestinians around the world have created rifts within the pro-Trump MAGA movement, due to its support for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's hardline war strategy.
