UAE Foreign Ministry Declares Self-Defense Against Iranian Aggression

Beirut: The UAE is "acting in self-defense in the face of the blatant and unjustified Iranian aggression," as reported by WAM.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement affirming its stance on recent aggressive actions by Iran. The statement detailed that Iran launched over 1,400 ballistic missiles and drones targeting infrastructure and civilian sites within the UAE, leading to civilian casualties. This aggressive behavior is described as a significant violation of international law and the UN Charter, infringing on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the UAE and posing a direct threat to its security and stability.

Furthermore, the statement emphasized the UAE's position of not wanting to be drawn into conflicts or escalations. However, it asserted the nation's full right to take necessary measures to protect its sovereignty, national security, and territorial integrity. The statement underscored the UAE's commitment to ensuring the safety and security of its citizens and residents, highlighting the right to self-defense in line with international law and the United Nations Charter.
