UAE Welcomes Launch of Gaza Peace Plan’s Second Phase

Beirut: State Minister for International Cooperation, Reem Al Hashimi, welcomed the announcement of the launch of the second phase of the comprehensive peace plan and the official formation of the Palestinian National Committee for the Administration of the Gaza Strip, as a temporary transitional body established pursuant to UN Security Council Resolution 2803, according to Sky News Arabia.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Al Hashimi also commended US President Donald Trump's announcement of the Peace Council, considering it a framework to support efforts to consolidate stability and advance the political process. In this context, she praised the leadership efforts exerted and the tireless endeavors undertaken by the sisterly State of Qatar, the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, and the friendly Republic of Turkey in supporting the peace process and enhancing opportunities for security and stability in the region.

Al Hashimi expressed her pride in being appointed as a member of the "Gaza Executive Council," stressing that this appointment reflects international confidence in the UAE's leading role and its steadfast approach in supporting peace and turning challenges into real opportunities for the people of Gaza and all the peoples of the region.

She stated that the UAE believes achieving lasting peace requires concerted international efforts and efficient management of the Gaza Strip, ensuring the legitimate rights and aspirations of the brotherly Palestinian people, contributing to stability, and supporting the peace process towards a more secure and prosperous future for the region.
