Imran Riza:mran Riza, the UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Lebanon, has issued a stark warning about the deepening humanitarian crisis as conflict continues to ravage the country. "We continue to witness an alarming level of human costs and humanitarian consequences of conflict in Lebanon," Riza said in a statement today. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the past week alone has seen at least 241 fatalities and 642 injuries resulting from Israeli airstrikes. The toll includes tragic incidents such as an airstrike yesterday in the village of Aalmat, Mount Lebanon, where 23 people, including seven children, were killed. Another strike in Tyre claimed the lives of five siblings, all with special needs. The conflict has forced more than 185,000 people to flee their homes in the past month, adding to the over 870,000 now displaced within Lebanon. Many civilians remain in their communities, including the elderly and infirm, unable to leave the ruins of their ancestral homes. Riza called for urgent acti on, emphasizing that 'protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure must be assured, international humanitarian law must be respected, this violence must stop now.'
