The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Filippo Grandi, said that nearly 100,000 Sudanese have entered Libya since the beginning of the conflict in their country. Grandi called for accelerating relief operations inside Sudan and in neighboring countries that host refugees, including Libya. Grandi affirmed that these people need urgent aid so that the waves of migration abroad, including to Europe, do not increase. The UNHCR confirmed that Kufra has become exposed to severe pressures, as it receives about 350 Sudanese daily in light of the damage to the infrastructure due to the recent rains.
