Beirut: The Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA) and the Russian news agency Sputnik have jointly organized a workshop titled 'Photo Reportage for Media Outlets: Understanding How to Shoot, Key Elements, and Common Mistakes'. This event saw the participation of over 200 media professionals from around the world and was held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the workshop aimed to enhance journalists' understanding of effective photographic techniques and the creation of comprehensive photo reports. Mr. Mohammed bin Abdurrahman Al-Yami, Director-General of UNA, highlighted the importance of images in conveying information and expressed gratitude to Sputnik for its collaboration in organizing the event and sharing expertise with journalists from member states.
The workshop covered common pitfalls in photography and offered strategies to overcome them. Participants learned about mistakes that could undermine a photo report and received guidance on selecting appropriate angles to enhance visual storytelling across different media platforms.
This workshop is part of UNA's ongoing series of training programs designed to build the capacity of journalists in member states. These programs aim to increase awareness of the rapid changes in media content production.
