Union Association for Human Rights Highlights UAE’s Leadership in Global Human Rights Advocacy

GENEVA: The Union Association for Human Rights has successfully concluded its participation at the 57th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, where it showcased the United Arab Emirates' (UAE) strides in human rights on the global stage. The Association delivered over 20 statements addressing critical global issues, including armed conflicts, racial discrimination, and women's rights, underscoring the UAE's commitment to human rights. According to Emirates News Agency, the Association's presentations highlighted the UAE's dedication to the rule of law, fair trials, and justice across various sectors including digital and climate spheres. The focus was also on the protection and promotion of the rights of diverse groups such as women, People of Determination, workers, the elderly, and children. The UAE's efforts in combating racial discrimination, violence, and extremism were particularly emphasized, along with its initiatives to foster peace, tolerance, and coexistence globally. Further discussions by the Association shed light on the UAE's proactive measures to end armed conflicts and its contributions to humanitarian aid. The country's advancements in international indicators that measure enhancements in the rule of law were also presented. Moreover, the UAE's institutional achievements in promoting human rights were showcased, stressing its firm stance against racism, aligning with the principles of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action aimed at eliminating racial discrimination and related intolerance.
