Gaza City: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has reported that families in the Gaza Strip are enduring dire conditions as a result of repeated displacements, underscoring the urgent necessity for an immediate ceasefire. The agency highlighted that in areas such as Deir al-Balah and across the entire region, the humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the UN agency detailed in a post on X that families are experiencing ongoing displacement due to relentless shelling. Many have sought refuge in overcrowded UNRWA schools and temporary tents, where they struggle to obtain basic necessities. The agency emphasized the critical need for a ceasefire and unrestricted access to humanitarian aid to meet the growing needs of the displaced population. The conflict, which began on October 7, 2023, has resulted in the displacement of nearly two million of the 2.3 million Palestinians residing in the Gaza Strip. These individuals are enduring severe shortages of food, water, and medicine, exacerbating the already tragic conditions. The situation has led to widespread famine, particularly in the northern regions, as the ongoing aggression perpetuates genocide and starvation, forcing citizens to migrate south in search of safety.
