UNRWA Successfully Vaccinates 93,000 Children in Gaza Amid Conflict

GAZA: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has successfully vaccinated approximately 93,000 children under the age of 10 against polio in the Gaza Strip, despite the ongoing conflict in the region. According to Jordan News Agency, UNRWA, in collaboration with its partners, conducted the vaccination initiative as part of the second phase of its broader polio immunization campaign targeted at children in the central areas of Gaza. The campaign's goal is to immunize 591,700 children to curb the spread of the disease. In a recent statement released on X, UNRWA highlighted the challenging circumstances under which the campaign was conducted, noting that the initiative commenced this Monday. The agency emphasized the critical need for a ceasefire and peace in the region, declaring them as the best 'vaccine' for the children's future well-being.
