Beirut: The US Embassy in Beirut announced in a post on X that Ambassador Issa laid a wreath this morning at the tomb of former Prime Minister Rafic Hariri.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the Embassy shared a tribute message emphasizing the enduring impact of Rafic Hariri's efforts towards peace and prosperity in Lebanon. "At a critical crossroads for Lebanon, Rafic Hariri's legacy of building peace and prosperity continues to resonate, gaining renewed significance over the years," the statement read.
The US Embassy also highlighted the ongoing relevance of justice and accountability in Lebanon. "Today's commemorations also underscore the importance of justice and holding accountable all those targeted by non-state actors in defense of Lebanon's sovereignty," the Embassy added.
